Commissioned Educational Article Series for Deafpedia (Netherlands)

Making conversations on identity, race and social justice accessible to Deaf communities.

Saved By The Sign was commissioned by Deafpedia, a Deaf led online learning platform dedicated to making knowledge more accessible to Deaf communities, to contribute five educational articles exploring identity, race and social justice. Covering topics such as intersectionality, anti racism, white supremacy and the experiences of racialised Deaf people, the articles translated complex social and political concepts into accessible, community centred learning resources.

Drawing on lived experience, community knowledge and social justice frameworks, the series connected broader conversations around identity, power and equity to the realities of Deaf people’s lives. By combining education, critical reflection and practical examples, the articles encouraged readers to engage more deeply with issues of representation, inclusion and belonging within Deaf communities and wider society.

The articles continue to serve as accessible educational resources, supporting learning, dialogue and greater understanding of race, identity and social justice across Deaf communities internationally.
